Great book！ Warning: cliffhanger I usually slam cliffhangers with a low star rating。 But， this book is just too good to do that to。 The story line is exciting， with lots of twists and deceit going on。 The author is spot on with characters personalities clearly defined。 They are building trust， but poof - it is all going to fly out of the window very soon。 I say that will be page one of the next book。 I can’t wait！

Oh this a a wild one。 Plenty of intrigue。 Plenty of twists。 Even when Charlotte wants to do the right thing， it backfires。 What a cliffhanger！！ Can’t wait for the second part of this duet。

Although I have been wanting to read her novels for a while now， this is actually my first book by Nicole Fox and I am so so glad I finally picked it up！ Wow wow wow， this book is the perfect balance of action， suspense， steam and personal struggles。 The characters are beautifully complex and balanced， with incredible depth， making them truly real; I was right there with them， feeling their emotions and living their lives as my own。The main characters， Lucio， Charlotte and Evie， are all damaged Although I have been wanting to read her novels for a while now， this is actually my first book by Nicole Fox and I am so so glad I finally picked it up！ Wow wow wow， this book is the perfect balance of action， suspense， steam and personal struggles。 The characters are beautifully complex and balanced， with incredible depth， making them truly real; I was right there with them， feeling their emotions and living their lives as my own。The main characters， Lucio， Charlotte and Evie， are all damaged in their own ways， but their building relationships are helping them try to overcome their issues。 Charlotte becomes more self-assured and confident， while keeping her fire， her fierceness and vulnerabilities。 Lucio， on the other hand， progresses in the opposite direction: he maintains his don persona of toughness， control and coldness， but he softens up a lot towards Charlotte and Evie。 Evie is just the most adorable kid and her growing bond with both protagonists， although rocky at the start with Lucio， is absolutely heartwarming。 Even the secondary characters - Adriano， the "annoying" （not really though） and hilarious best friend; Enzo， the softer and endearing sort-of-father-figure-slash-friend; and Vanessa， the feisty and protective best friend - are fantastic。 And I don't know how Nicole Fox managed it， but I even fell in love with Paulie， Evie's platypus stuffed toy。 Unbelievable！Charlotte and Lucio's relationship is explosive and a constant battle for control。 Although it does slowly improve throughout the book， there is so much push and pull as they try to fight their attraction。 Luckily for us， they can't keep their sizzling chemistry tamped down for long and their sex scenes are oh so hot and steamy。All the while， the fast-paced action and the intrigue kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put the book down。 And what a cliffhanger in the end！ Absolutely can't wait to read the second book in Mazzeo Mafia duet and get the answers I am desperate for。 。。。more

I've been a fan of Nicole Fox since I found her books 2 years ago。 Since they I have read all her books that have been released and I honestly feel like her books just keep getting better and better。This is part one of a duet and it was phenomenal。 Charlotte is not having a great day to start but it ends with her chained in the basement of the local don Lucio's house with the threat of death hanging over her head。 Luckily for her， she is suddenly needed as a nanny with a little girl shows up wit I've been a fan of Nicole Fox since I found her books 2 years ago。 Since they I have read all her books that have been released and I honestly feel like her books just keep getting better and better。This is part one of a duet and it was phenomenal。 Charlotte is not having a great day to start but it ends with her chained in the basement of the local don Lucio's house with the threat of death hanging over her head。 Luckily for her， she is suddenly needed as a nanny with a little girl shows up with a note advising that she is Lucio's daughter and her mother is dead。 This is the exact moment that I knew this book was gonna be good， cause now you have a desperate woman， a sudden long lost daughter， and a Don that had this reader swooning。I loved the buildup of chemistry between our two leads， they definitely fought the attraction along the way but when they finally give in。。。 it was everything。 I thought the plot was interesting and in true Fox fashion there is a jaw dropping cliff hanger。 I honestly can't recommend this book enough， especially if you are fan of mafia romances with smart mouthed/feisty women。I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review。 。。。more

A great start to a new mafia romance！ Lucio’s is the Don who gets an unexpected surprise when he meets spicy， fierce Charlotte who finds herself in a particular circumstance。 When things is not，looking good for her， she gets another chance when Lucio gets another surprise on his doorstep。 What happens next was dark， suspenseful and loads of hot intense chemistry that doesn’t disappoint。 I can’t wait to see what happens next especially with that ending。
